Research and New Business Development
Vanessa brings two years of experience in conducting primary and secondary data research and analysis. She has expertise in the collection, cleaning, and analysis of datasets from surveys, stakeholder engagements, and focus group discussions, among other mixed-methods research approaches. Starting as an Intern, Vanessa is now a Research and New Business Development Analyst for ORI.
In her role as Research Analyst, she supports engagement teams to translate research findings into practical recommendations. This enables innovations for improving service delivery and scaling measurable impact. She also supports opportunity scoping by analyzing stakeholder needs, policy shifts, and market dynamics. In addition, she provides input in the preparation of research and project proposals and technical reports—and also helps with research in new business development.
Her sectors of experience are youth economic opportunity, agribusiness, financial inclusion, and productive use of energy. Furthermore, she has experience conducting capacity needs assessments for a range of archetypes, including youth groups, micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises—among others—and in program evaluation.
She is effective in fostering dialogue and facilitating participatory and consultative engagements with local communities, public sector agencies, development partners, private sector actors, and civil society, with the aim of driving systemic change.
Vanessa earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics from Kyambogo University, Uganda.
