Finance Specialist
Benard is a Finance Specialist and a Chartered Certified Accountant, with over ten years of experience working with international and regional development organizations in the investment management industry. He has worked across eastern Africa with impact funds and private equity firms to improve investee performance. In this context, he provides strategic planning, internal control systems, performance metrics development, financial systems management, risk management, tax planning, and performance tracking and reporting.
Benard worked for AgDevCo for six years as the Regional Finance Manager and Pearl Capital Partners/AACF as the Financial Accountant for four years. Earlier, he spent four years at Barclays Bank, working in the retail and operations departments.
His advisory engagements have included due diligence assistance, for example: supporting transaction strategy and closures by conducting various risk management reviews, spanning from tax and compliance management with tax authorities, to firm level help with strategy finalization and change management, to supporting financial audits and assistance in the exit process.
Benard holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Makerere University.
